In response to the recent publicity regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, Hicare Ltd would like to offer reassurance of our commitment to keeping your loved ones safe.

The Prime Minister, has advised all "unnecessary" visits to friends and relatives in care homes should cease. It is therefore imperative that we protect the health, safety and welfare of our residents.

We have implemented stringent safety precautions for new resident admissions to the homes and are currently taking new admissions. You can have a guided virtual tour around the homes with the manager via our iPads to see our facilities for yourself. Please email for more information.

As of 17th March 2020 we have implemented the following:

  • No visitors will be allowed to visit any residents in the care homes (exceptional circumstances can be discussed with the managers).
  • Only essential health professionals and contractors will be allowed in the care homes.

Please be assured all health professionals, contractors and staff will undertake the infection control measures detailed below in order to ensure the safety of our residents.

  • Controlled door access
  • Temperature check. If this is not normal, they will not be allowed to enter the home.
  • Symptom questionnaire check
  • Wash their hands with soap for at least 20 seconds on entering and leaving the care home.

We have implemented a number of other safety measures to minimise the risk and to keep everyone at Hicare safe.

  • We have daily stringent infection control and deep cleaning measures.
  • We have detailed risk assessments covering all aspects of daily life in our care home, how these are affected by COVID-19 and how we can all keep safe.
  • We are using PPE thoroughly and effectively for all staff and have AMPLE AMOUNTS in the home
  • Our staff and residents have access to COVID testing and are regularly tested.
  • We are in close communications with medical professionals in the community for advice and support.
  • We are still having a "No indoor visitors" policy however, we are implementing outdoor visits with a 2 metre social distancing still in place. (This is on hold during the lockdown period and we will let you know when we will restart this)
  • Staff have been provided with washable face masks to wear whilst outside the home and disposable masks to use whilst inside the care home.
  • The company is paying for taxis for all staff who require it, for all journeys to and from work to stop them travelling and being exposed on public transport.

 FREE Video Calling to Residents

We understand that this will be worrying time for yourself and loved ones and therefore, we will also be setting up the option for residents’ families to speak to their relatives over Skype. Residents’ can be contacted between the hours of 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm - please contact the manager to allocate a scheduled time slot.

FREE Private Facebook Group

We have set up private Facebook groups for our resident's families to view photos and/or videos of activities in the home and keep up to date with their familiy member(s). These groups are updated as often as possible. Please search for "Meadow's Court" or "Spencefield Grange" in the Facebook search bar and request to join our group.

Well done & Thank you

We would like to thank all our staff who are working through these troubling times to continue to provide care to our residents. We are very proud of all our staff. Thank you all.
